What is Home? - An Exhibition

And when do houses become them? Is it how long we’ve lived there? The kinds of memories we’ve made there? Is it the people that live there? Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity partners with families to build homes that they can afford. Just like the process of building a Habitat home, the “What is Home” exhibit is an example of what happens when people come together to create something on behalf of others.


John James Audubon Print Exhibition

Housed in the Rare Books Department of Special Collections, 12 of these stunning pieces feature mammals from Audubon’s imperial folio “The Quadrupeds of North America.” The remaining print, entitled “Black Vulture/Carrion Crow,” is from Audubon’s landmark book “The Birds of America,” which contains 435 plates of birds and is one of the most famous and highly valued publications in American history.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is proud to present the Salt Lake City Regional Conference for Inventors, Makers, and Entrepreneurs in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 12, 2016. This free program will be presented by top USPTO officials, successful inventors and entrepreneurs, and intellectual property (IP) experts will provide practical advice and information for novice and seasoned inventors, makers and entrepreneurs. This program is free and your registration will include attendance to all sessions andpresentations.  Space is limited, so register early. The program includes a luncheon keynote speaker but does not include lunch since this event is free; participants will need to provide their own lunch. Please note that food and beverage will be available for purchase on site. This event will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to learn specifically about the value of patents and trademarks, federal and local resources available to help entrepreneurs start or grow a business, strategies to leverage IP assets, and networking opportunities with experts in the IP and the small business growth and development fields. These experts will be from both government and the private sector and will help attendees gain insight into the patent process.
