The Humanities Scholars program is an exclusive first-year experience providing an immersive atmosphere where students, faculty, and staff collaborate over shared interests, academic research, and community involvement.
Q: What are you most looking forward to this school year?
A: I’m excited to meet new people and to dive into my major.
Q: What is something that you learned in high school that you think will help you this first year at the University of Utah?
A: Something I learned in high school that I think will help as a first year is knowing how to study. Being able to truly sit down to learn and review information will be helpful.
Q: What is a hobby you enjoy and why do you love it?
A: A hobby I enjoy is skiing because I love the outdoors in winter.
Q: What is your dream career, and what is it that excites you about that career?
A: My dream career is to be an immigration lawyer, but I am still open-minded.
Q: What is your most frequently used or favorite emoji and why?
A: Probably the shrug emoji because my dad will send me dad jokes that I don't understand.
Q: Who is someone in your family whom you look up to and why?
A: My mom is someone I look up to, she is so fun and truly a hard worker. I hope I can be like her when I grow up.
Q: Would you rather spend time at the beach or camping and why?
A: I would rather spend time at the beach because it is way more relaxing.
Q: How did you choose the University of Utah?
A: I chose the University of Utah because my family has ties with the university, so I’ve always been a Ute at heart.
Q: What are you most excited about starting this year or what are you most looking forward to?
A: I am most looking forward to football seasons as well as furthering my education!
Q: What is a hobby you enjoy and why do you love it?
A: A hobby I enjoy is writing, because it's another way for me to express myself creatively.
Q: What is your dream career, and what is it that excites you about that career?
A: My dream career is to be a sports broadcaster/journalist or to work in sports.

A: A hobby I enjoy is playing guitar because I love to play heavy metal.
Q: What is your dream career, and what is it that excites you about that career?
A: My dream career is to be a park ranger because I like the outdoors and nature.
Q: Who is someone in your family whom you look up to, and why?
A: I look up to my stepdad, because he is a really smart and kind person.
Q: Would you rather spend time at the beach or camping, and why?
A: I would rather spend time camping, because I like trees and I hate sand.
Q: If you could go back in time, in what time period would you most like to live and why?
A: I would most like to live in the1980’s so I can witness my favorite bands grow.
