Dear Students,

A warm welcome back to another academic year in the College of Humanities! Whether you’re returning to campus or joining us for the first time, I hope you had a great summer.

The humanities are "Where Ideas Connect," and this semester, our halls will once again fill with conversations that make this field vital—about literature that challenges us, histories that shape our present, philosophies that sharpen our thinking, and connections that span cultures and centuries. These are the disciplines that ask the hardest questions and remind us what it means to be human across the past, the present and the future.

I'm proud of the community we've built together and energized by everything ahead of us this semester: new courses, guest lectures, student showcases, and the everyday moments of discovery that happen in our classrooms and far beyond them.

To our returning students, welcome home. To our new students, welcome to a place where your curiosity will be met with enthusiasm.

Here’s to a semester of great ideas, discoveries and new experiences.
