Congratulations to Professor Fernando Rubio and Professor Anne Lair
Professor Rubio received the ACTFL/Cengage Award for Excellence in Foreign Language Instruction Using Technology.
This award is presented annually to recognize excellence in the integration and use of technology in foreign language instruction at the post-secondary level.
The recipients must submit evidence of how they have integrated the use of technology
into their foreign language courses. Evidence should include objectives and specific
strategies using technology that contribute to the attainment of the course goals
within the framework of the National Standards for Foreign Languages. Supporting documentation
may include letters from students, colleagues, school or institutional officers, and
student course evaluations.
Professor Anne Lair received The ACTFL Nelson Brooks Award for Excellence in the
Teaching of Culture, which recognizes a foreign language educator who has contributed
significantly to the teaching of culture in the foreign language classroom. The impact
of the contribution should have been felt over an extended period of time and have
influenced large numbers of individuals.
