Humanities Faculty Present for Life at The U Showcase
In March, dozens of high school seniors admitted to the University for fall 2025 attended a Life at the U showcase put on by the University. The College of Humanities was thrilled to participate in this inaugural event that brought together high school students from across Utah.
Workshops were held by Dr. Leslie Francis from the Department of Philosophy and Roger Tuttle and Dr. Sara K. Yeo from the Department of Communication.

Dr. Francis introduced students to bioethics, offering insights into studying with applied ethics scholars.

Dr. Tuttle worked with students to help elevate their “selfie” photographs as they worked with the ground glass view of a camera, discussing “Memento Mori” and how embracing death is crucial to living life.

Dr. Yeo’s workshop taught about social science sampling, using candy as a hands-on way to learn about statistical sampling.
Students could select the workshops they attended and were able to participate in a scavenger hunt, make connections with student clubs, fellow incoming first-year students, and more.
