Q: How has being part of the Humanities Scholars program impacted your time at the university?

A: Being a part of the Humanities Scholars program has impacted my time at the university by inspiring me to pursue research in the major I am taking. I want to submit my research into the Undergraduate Research (OUR) Program.

Q: What is one of the most impactful lessons or experiences you had during your time as a Humanities Scholar?

A: Although I didn't speak much during discussions, when the mentors came in and spoke about their research, I certainly learned a lot more about their specific fields which I hadn't known before. For instance, the Philosophy professor came in and asked about our research projects. She then related Philosophy to each and every one of them. I was impressed and it is a memory that will always stay with me.

A: Professor Cindi Textor really helped explain the process I needed to go through in order to reach specific points in my research timeline. Her advice will certainly stick with me and help me with future research projects for other classes I take here at the University of Utah.

Q: Anything else you would like to share about the humanities scholars' program?

A: I would love to do this program again! I can see this program helping students learn about the research process and pursuing presenting topics that they were too afraid to do at a younger age. It's a way for students to speak out about things that relate to the realm of humanities.
