Humanities Day is October 26, 2024, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., when high school students from across Utah will be able to attend a variety of faculty presentations and learn more about what life is like in the College of Humanities at the University of Utah.
At the University of Utah, this includes departments and programs that study Communication, English, Environmental Humanities, History, International and Area Studies, Linguistics, Philosophy, World Languages and Cultures, and Writing and Rhetoric Studies. We offer a variety of majors and minors, 23 languages, and even certificates. Humanities Day is a reminder of the enduring relevance of the humanities in our ever-evolving world, fostering a deeper understanding of what it means to be human. Participants will be able to attend mini-lectures from our award-winning faculty and find out ways that they can engage in the College of Humanities at the University of Utah.

Mikey Collard | Senior Vice President, Method Communications
- Mikey Collard is an award-winning public relations specialist with experience across
a variety of verticals.
Currently working with predominantly tech-based clients at Method Communications, he has worked
with the likes of Meta, Samsung, Xbox, TD Ameritrade, Deel, Guild, SurveyMonkey, Credit Karma and
Affirm, just to name a few.
Prior to joining Method Communications in October 2013, he was an account executive at leading
entertainment agency Rogers & Cowan (now R&CPMK), working with clients such as the GRAMMY
Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, the Daytime Emmy Awards, Logo TV, Kaskade, Skylar Grey and Paris
Hilton. He earned a master’s degree in strategic public relations from the University of Southern
California, and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of Utah.
Sancha Dalton | Grants Specialist, Utah Food Bank
- Sancha Dalton is a professional fundraiser and grants specialist with the Utah Food
Bank. She uses her
education in Writing and Rhetoric to captivate her audience and fund nonprofit grant proposals. She
specializes in Grant Management, using rhetoric to convey complex subject matter in plain language, a
much-needed skill in nonprofit and business writing. Her educational background at the University of
Utah has paved the way for her to pursue a master’s in business administration post-graduation.
Dave Henriksen | Head of Value Based Care, Notable Health
- Dave is currently the Head of Value Based Care at Notable Health where their company
takes AI agents to
drive pre-built and customizable workflows with their AI platform. They work to eliminate administrative
burdens, reduce operational costs, improve patient engagement, and supercharge your team's
productivity. Prior to his time at Notable Dave was a Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at
Intermountain Health in Salt Lake in their population health departments. He was also a Regional
Operations Officer in the Intermountain Medical Group overseeing clinics like the Salt Lake, Avenues,
Memorial and Bountiful Clinics. Dave also worked at Kaiser Permanente in Portland Oregon before he
joined Intermountain. Dave received a BA in History at the University of Utah and has a Masters in
Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.

human history, even if their
presence has often been forgotten or erased. In this session we’ll discuss a handful examples of women’s entry
into STEM fields across time.
